I recently had the privilege of reading Jack’s book and could not put it down.
It was an exciting story about a man dedicated to his country and above all his family. I thought it was well written and portrayed his father through his eyes as a son and also from an adult’s perspective of the time his father lived.
The best non- fiction book I have read this year!
“The Real Mike Hammer” reads like a movie. The more I read, the more I felt like I knew Jack personally. Most biographies are stiff and factual with no passion- this is just the opposite-a must read!
I had never heard of “Mike Hammer” as I am a thirty-one year old woman and this story is from the 1950’s. The book encompasses love, war, and Hollywood all in one.
As much as the end was a surprise to me, it seemed natural. I have re- read it three times and all my friends are reading it now.
Absolutely should be a screenplay! This book needs to be produced by Spielberg, Clint Eastwood, or George Clooney to do it justice.
A great story of a man from a different time that stuck to his principles regardless of the situations he faced.
